Well hello FOXY girls! It seems we’ve been to Fort Smith once again! And holy cow it was a good workshop. It was my very first workshop as a Peer Leader and it went fantastic.
The FOXY team arrived in Fort Smith at around 6pm Monday night and that’s when the fun began for us. We drove to our hotel and had dinner at the Chinese restaurant, then we hung out in our rooms. That night consisted of crocheting, chatting, and Candy Crush! It was a great beginning to the trip.
On the following day we did our workshop at the school and it went amazingly. Two girls from the Peer Leader Retreat (Pyper and Kiana) got down and dirty to help us out. The girls learned some great things about themselves and asked some very great questions. We shared some pizza and veggies for lunch and chatted. During the workshop the girls were enthusiastic, and thrilled to be involved. Not only was it fun but it was also an AWESOME learning experience.
After the workshop we went to Kiana’s boot camp for youth and got to experience how she’s helping to impact her community through the Community Project she developed at the Peer Leader Retreat. The boot camp definitely made you sweat. Since it was my first time to Fort Smith with those wonderful FOXY ladies, I was given a tour of the town before heading out to dinner at the FOXY Evaluation Consultant, Jessica’s house. She blessed us with ghostly cupcakes!! YUMMY!
Oh my goodness that was a wonderful FOXY experience and I couldn’t have asked to spend my first FOXY workshop with a greater bunch of girls!
